Crete

We were going to have a caravan holiday after our exhausting Jubilee time, but the weather just didn't make it seem like a good idea. Almost on a whim we went to a travel agent. Well, you could spend all day on the internet and still not find anything. What have you got, we asked, that is not too far to fly, has sunshine, and leaves tomorrow? And the answer was Crete. A family-run hotel, only 3 star, which also means unpretentious, and the room we were given had this view. Wow!
The bed squeaked every time one of us moved, but we really didn't have many more grumbles. A week soaking up the sunshine (even whilst we mostly sat in the shade), was just the ticket. I kept humming that ECF chorus 'He made the sun and the sand and the blue, blue sea..........'
